Cervical spondylitis, also known as cervical osteoarthritis or neck arthritis, is a degenerative condition that affects the joints and discs in the neck. Symptoms can include neck pain and stiffness, headaches, and pain or numbness in the arms and hands. Risk factors for cervical spondylitis include aging, genetics, and a history of neck injuries or trauma. Treatment options include physical therapy, medication, and in some cases, surgery.


Treatment for cervical spondylitis can vary depending on the severity of the condition and the individual's symptoms. Some common options include, Physical therapy like exercises and stretches can help improve flexibility and strength in the neck, as well as reduce pain and stiffness.Medications like over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen can help reduce pain and inflammation. Your doctor may also prescribe stronger medications if needed.


Heat and cold therapy like applying heat or cold to the neck can help reduce pain and inflammation.Chiropractic care like Chiropractic adjustments can help realign the spine and reduce pressure on the neck.Acupuncture and massage like Acupuncture and massages can help relax muscles and reduce pain. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to alleviate pressure on the nerve roots or spinal cord.


It is important to consult with a doctor or physical therapist to determine the best course of treatment for cervical spondylitis, as some treatment options may not be appropriate for everyone.
